Could You Share Your Sofa with a Schnauzer? 🐾
Have you ever thought about fostering a Schnauzer? Opening your heart and home to one of our rescue Schnauzers, even just for a little while, can change their life — and yours.
Fostering is incredibly rewarding.
It takes time, patience, and plenty of love, but the impact you’ll have is truly priceless. Many of the dogs that come into our care are anxious, confused, and in need of a calm, caring space to decompress. As a fosterer, you’ll be helping them learn to trust again, giving them the confidence they need to flourish and be ready for their forever home.
Our foster families are the heart of our rescue.
We deeply value everything they do and are proud to have a strong, supportive community of fosterers who are always there to help one another. You're never on your own — we’re here every step of the way.
We’re always looking for new foster homes, and if you're interested, we’d love to hear from you.
Here’s what you need to know:
🐾 Vet visits: Our partner vets are located in Dún Laoghaire and Glasnevin, so you’ll need to be able to bring your foster dog to either clinic for check-ups. Some dogs may only need one or two visits; others with more complex needs may require weekly appointments.
🐾 Children: For safety reasons, we ask that there are no children under 12 living in the home or visiting regularly. Many of our rescue dogs are not used to children and need a quiet environment while they settle in.
🐾 Garden requirements: You’ll need a fully enclosed garden with walls or fencing at least 5ft high to keep your foster dog safe.
🐾 We’ve got you covered: We provide all food, leads, beds, training support, and full backup. You focus on giving love and patience — we’ll take care of the rest.
If you think you can invest the time and offer a safe space to a Schnauzer in need, please fill in our foster application form. Once we receive it, we’ll arrange a home visit to chat, answer any questions, and see if fostering is the right fit for you.
Got questions? Reach out to us anytime at info@msri.ie — we’d love to hear from you.
